Full House star John Stamos, who once guest starred in an episode of Friends, has posted an emotional tribute to his friend, Matthew Perry after his tragic death.
The TV stars were friends long before Stamos’ cameo as Chandler and Monica’s sperm donor in the season 9 episode, The One With The Donor. In his emotional tribute post, Stamos shares a heartwarming story from the film set all those years ago.

Taking to his 3.9 million Instagram followers, Stamos paid tribute to his friend. The Hollywood star shared a clip of the iconic episode, sharing a heartwarming story of the day, which didn’t go John’s way.
“Matthew and I had been friendly long before ‘Friends’ So, when I guest starred as Zach, the prospective sperm donor for Chandler and Monica, I hung with him a lot,” he penned.
“Standing backstage, ready to make my entrance, Matt whispers, ‘The audience is going to go crazy when they see you! Get ready for some loud screams.” I walk through the door… silence. I was so embarrassed.
The show was filmed in front of a live audience, and the Full House star revealed that he “was so embarrassed” and started to “slither back to my dressing room and quit showbiz.”
However, his friend, Matthew Perry, got the crowd back on his side upon seeing this, as he walked over to the audience and said: “Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for John Stamos! You guys probably didn’t recognize him at first because he’s so much better looking in person!”
“I never forgot that and the world will never forget you. RIP Matthew Perry,” he concluded.
At the time of filming John had already filmed eight seasons of the hit show Full House, where he starred alongside Bob Saget and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Friends cast release statement after Matthew Perry’s death

On Monday night, the main cast of Friends, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and Matt LeBlanc released a joint statement to PEOPLE on the ‘unfathomable loss’ of Matthew Perry.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” the joint statement reads.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” they concluded.
Maggie Wheeler, who played Chandler’s on-off-again girlfriend in the early season of the sitcom was the first cast member to pay tribute to Perry online, as she penned: “What a loss. The world will miss you, Mathew Perry.”
The six actors starred alongside each other in the hit show for ten years and seasons. In 2021, the gang reunited on screen for the first time for a special reunion.
