Davika Hoorne was born and raised in Thailand
Davika Hoorne, better known as “Mai”, was born on May 16, 1992 in Bangkok to a Thai mother and Belgian father. In a Mother’s Day interview, Hoorne revealed that her parents separated when she was 10, with her father leaving to start a new family. She was then raised by her mum and aunt.
Hoorne has a degree in communication arts from Rangsit University in Thailand.

She is a triple threat
Hoorne has previously endorsed several luxury brands and has even walked for Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana. So it’s no surprise that her first forays in the entertainment industry were as a model in 2010 before she quickly jumped into acting.The actress has been cast in multiple television shows and films, achieving stardom at the age of 20 in her breakout role as Mae Nak in the 2013 horror-comedy Pee Mak. The movie became Thailand’s highest-grossing film of all time. In 2015, Hoorne’s lead role in the Thai romantic movie Heart Attack earned her several best actress awards.
Hoorne, who was nicknamed Mai by her mother after renowned Thai singer Mai Charoenpura, has also dabbled in music. After collaborating with artists like South Korean singer Ali and Vietnamese singer Son Tung M-TP, the My Ambulance actress released her debut digital single in 2022 titled “Can I Call You Mine”.
She is a philanthropist
Beyond her successful career, Hoorne actively supports various charitable organisations. She joined Unicef’s Basket of Hope fundraising campaign in 2016, to raise funds for children affected by emergencies around the world.
In 2018 Hoorne joined WildAid as Thailand’s ambassador for the #IvoryFree campaign, whereby supporters promise to never buy, own or give ivory as a gift.

She is in a relationship with Thai actor Chantavit Dhanasevi
The actress has been in a relationship with fellow Thai actor Chantavit Dhanasevi since 2018. The pair met on the set of the Thai romcom TV drama Chai Mai Jing Ying Tae.
The lovebirds occasionally appear on each other’s personal Instagram accounts celebrating their relationship and each other’s successes. Dhanasevi also appears in multiple videos on Hoorne’s YouTube channel, where she frequently posts travel vlogs, her music, and videos with her friends.
